Description

Corellian XS Stock Light Freighter

From the descriptions I found, only the missile rack and the upper and side laser turrets are factory standard for this model, but both the smuggler cinematic and the appearance of the inside of the gunwell access implies that a lower turret is not an uncommon addition. Since the area where the ventral turret would be has a window anyway, i can only assume that is serves as a lower observational seat when no weapon is placed there.

The note about optional anti-personel weapons makes sense for in-universe context. Given the risk of piracy and shipjacking (which would be the only reason even the authoritarian Empire continued to permit larger weapons for civilian vessels), smaller anti-boarding weapons are probably legal as well, but I don't imagine that many port authorities would be happy to see them.

Other than extrapolating the forward section of the port cargo bay (which, for the specific ship in the Star Wars: the Old Republic game has probably been modified into a passenger suite - or at least a passenger section), and the text, all I did here was line up the interior and exterior plan views as best as I could. It's hardly perfect, given that the interior view of the engines did not scale acurately to the external view, but I think everything else lines up relatively neatly...

The interior plan does lack an obvious ship's head, but there are two locations in the port side where it is likely to be: either across from the galley and Captain's quarters, or across from the crew quarters.

The little access way across from the medical bay has hatches on either end. The forward hatch leads into an airlock, where there is both the entry ramp for ground landings and a starboard hatch for direct ship-to-ship or ship-to-station hook-ups. The aft hatch presumably leads either to a single largish escape pod or to a small access chamber for several individual escape pods. Either way, since there are vector array suplimental engines bracing the main liniar set shown on the plan, they wouldn't launch aftward (most likely, they are entered from the top through a floor hatch, then launch either ventrally or starboard).

While only one deck is shown, everal sources either imply or state directly that there is a sub-deck in the Correllian YT-1300 where cargo is loaded and shifed about under the main deck before being lifted into the cargo bays via deck access elevators. Given both the relatively small hatch and many awkward turns that would be involved in loading bulk cargo through the main airlock, this is likely to be true of the XS freighter as well.

In the process of removing the text for "Galaxy Map," "Escape Pod," "Intercom", and such, I ended up removing most of the seats and all of the portable objects, as well as the really oversized holo-net communications node that cannot possibly be standard for this ship. It took up too much space in the lounge, which is supposed to double as an optional cargo bay, and had the connection cords on the deck rather than benieth it (which would have been the case if the mounting was standard).

Also not shown on the plan are the port and starboard array engines on either side of the oversized dual linear set. I find these interesting because in the old Westend Games Star Wars RPG, tramp freighter captains and smugglers often had to make a choice between either having the raw speed of the linear engines or the improved manueverability of the array engines. Here, with the XS, we finally see what is apparently the ballance between the two extremes.

While I'm not a big fan of the large "brick" extention of the port side of the XS, I do like the general design over all.

If you look at the official Main Deck floorplan, it is plain that at least parts of the ship are two full decks tall.
